About Comuta

Better commutes, one route at a time.

Comuta is a Nigerian carpooling platform. We connect people travelling the same route at the same time, so a daily commute becomes something you can count on.

Why we exist

A commute should be something you can plan.

Getting to work in Lagos means surge pricing when you can least afford it, a different stranger every day, and no guarantee of a car at all. Meanwhile thousands of people drive the same roads at the same hour with empty seats. Comuta puts those two facts together.

The result is a seat you book ahead, at a fare that does not move, with someone whose route you already share.

How we are building it

Depth on a few routes beats a thin spread.

A route that works every morning matters more than launching everywhere at once, so we go one route at a time.

Route focus

We open a route where enough people make the same trip at the same time to make it dependable.

Trust before scale

Driver checks, ratings and issue reports were built first, before anything else.

Shared journeys

Drivers share the cost of a trip they already make. Comuta is not a taxi service.

Where we run

Lagos first, measured after.

We are starting with one route, Ikorodu to Victoria Island, and will add routes only when each one is reliable enough to be worth joining.
