How to delete your Comuta account

1. Delete it in the app

• Riders: open the Account tab and tap Delete account.
• Drivers: open your Profile and tap Delete account.
• Confirm when asked. You are signed out and the deletion happens straight away.

2. Delete it by email

If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, email support@comuta.com.ng from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask you to confirm it is you, then delete the account within 30 days and email you when it is done.

3. When we cannot delete it yet

So nobody is left without a ride or without their money, an account cannot be deleted while:

• you have a booked seat on a trip that has not happened yet. Cancel it first.
• you are driving an upcoming trip that riders have booked. Cancel the trip first, and those riders are refunded.
• a refund is still on its way to you. You can delete your account once it arrives.

4. What is deleted straight away

• Your name, phone number, email address and profile photo.
• Your ID documents, selfie, licence details and identity check results.
• Your vehicles, saved places, trusted contacts, regular routes and settings.
• Your notifications, support messages and the written comments on your ratings.
• Any trips you were going to drive that nobody had booked.

5. What is kept, and for how long

Records of your bookings, payments, refunds, driver payouts and any safety reports are kept for six years after deletion, no longer tied to your name, because Nigerian company and tax law requires financial records to be kept that long and so disputes can be handled. They are then permanently deleted. A star rating you gave a driver stays in their overall score as a number, without your name or comment.
